This song is very special In so many ways yet didn’t have a lyric video so I thought I’d make one. It’s as if a mother is talking to her child through these lyrics. When the lyrics turn white it symbolizes the realization that “sometimes they won’t take what they need to take” and how that effects them so deeply – “the strangest chemical reaction inside of her brain” because throughout this song they have been accustomed to giving all they have and when their child grows up and doesn’t take it, they step back and see how much they have changed as a person since having a child. “No she’s not the same. No she’s not the same. No she’s not the same”
Before that in the song the mother character had regarded herself as “A pale, isolated, shallow water place” and nothing more – “What a place I call myself.”
All of this I didn’t notice until the making of this video. Listen closely.
Song/audio righs go to Daughter.
