Hi, I'm a self thought player (pretty basic still tho). I have had my 3/4 guitar for like 12 years now. And Im now at a point that I think that I can do a bit more than a beginner. My best tip is to have fun, Yes you can learn and master it by working hard. But if you have fun and enjoy doing little bits just for yourself, then eventually you will get this comfort with the guitar. I never play for people, but now that I live with housemates, I often get comments like "you played beautifully today". For me a guitar is about letting your emotions flow. When you are alone it is a lot easier. It still takes me a few days to learn a song, but I can grab my guitar, put my heart in it and be amazed, thats why I play.
Don't start playing for people when you aren't sure about yourself. My brother destroyed a song of mine for me by pointing out a tone that didnt really fit well. Now that I know more, I learned that it was theoretically perfectly fine. I still play on a 3/4 guitar (kids guitar). I can reach everything easily and play comfortably, the jokes were hard when I got older and made me stop playing guitar. I got a "real" guitar on my birthday and it got me back. I shouldn't need to tell you but, yea that guitar is in my closet while my old 3/4 is sitting right next to me right now.
Play what you are comfortable with and what you think sounds nice. In the end you'll see that you will see that that way you can really start expressing your emotions and grow as a musician. Learn new techniques more easily and be proud of where you are right now. TY for listening to my tedtalk

Tip 12, swap tv watching time for practice time. Tip 13 ok watch TVGod but practice the repetitive stuff like scales or fingering patterns without looking. Tip 14 check fretting hand tension, keep it relaxed.Tip15 most important tip of all play it slowly and accurately and really use your metronome. Tip 15. Learn something and play it solid for that inevitable moment when you get asked to play something. My favourite that impresses across the styles is The Star Spangled Banner. Try four finger position at the twelfth fret and keeping that four fret area figure it out note at a time.

Lovely Video clip! Sorry for chiming in, I would love your thoughts. Have you heard about – Rozardner Guitar Professionalism Reality (do a search on google)? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for learning how to play any guitar style in minutes without the hard work. Ive heard some great things about it and my mate after a lifetime of fighting got cool results with it.

May be it was his 4th tip which every one should take very very seriously. I advice it to any one interested but struggling to maintain discipline in playing.

Buy the wall hanger/stand for guitar now. Dont keep your guitar in your guitar bag, however expensive it may be. Hang it. If you play it regularly, it wont get dusty any ways. But you surely will play only if you hang it on the wall. I kept playing my guitar every time i used to come and sit on my bed and pull it from the wall. The playing was may be for 2 minutes. Again hang back do whatever i was distracted with, come back, play a little and do it again and agian.

It was already some months now and i understood the important of the small guitar wall hanger.

Buying an expensive guitar or any guitar for that matter may go waste if you are not disciplined like me. The wall hanger is your disipline manager..
