most people would say "i have 25 or 26"…… but "twenty FIVE or six"…. your replacing the last digit
the "to 4" part simply means "to 4-o clock in the morning"
we know its morning because he is fighting sleep…. seeing lights in the sky (the aurora, probably)

I think the chords are wrong. Try Am – Am/G – Am/F# – F – E. See how they follow the tension of the song. Although I have seen one tutorial that uses Am – Am7 – D9 – F – E bar chords and a descending bass on the D string. Once you try them you'll see the difference. Check a Chicago video for accuracy.
You'll get all these stoners saying it's about drugs, but it's litterally referring to 25 or 26 minutes to 4 o clock

I was wondering the types of scales Kath was using..
Had the pentatonic nailed but the others not so much..
for the clean chords try to listen to the version that has isolated guitar..you'll find that it may very well be A minor root on the D string..then Amin7 root on the d string also..then A min 6 root on D string..Then Fmaj 7 also root on the D string.. then E chord using the normal D shape moved up to the E chord

25 or 6 to 4 refers to 3:35 (or 3:34) in the morning, as in 25 minutes (or {2}6 minutes) to 4am
