I od’d on mushrooms( yes you can) and tried to will myself to burst into flames, like the Monk on the cd cover. I was DONE, fuck this, I refuse to do this anymore, God, you are a fucking jerk and I want out !! The Paramedics were very nice. Unable to speak for 8 hours, was in the ER as a Jane Doe, for 8 hours.

  2. Limekiller says:

You have no idea just how revolutionary this song and its lyrics were back when the song was released. It's truly depressing that they're just as relevant today as they were back then.

  3. GreenWolf2K says:

It's sad that police brutality and racism will never disappear, but at least it has decreased over the years. I think the bigger problem is that it doesn't take much to become a cop and they don't punish them hard enough. If a cop makes a small mistake they should be punished. Now if they completely fuck up they should lose their job and depending on how bad they messed they deserve true jail time and not what they always get which shorter sentences and being put into safer prisons.

  4. Ren Höek says:

I was a little miffed at first, that you had the lyrics video instead of the music-live-version… but it was great anyway. And.. well. the lyrics are pretty important!

  5. Serge Blanchette says:

This song is about the Rodney King beating, where 4 police officer were aquited after the incident, they were filmed beating up severely Rodney King for no apparent reason, riot insue, he is telling us that neo nazis infiltrated the police and other institution , " some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses". In 2006 the FBI invistigated the white suprimacist mouvement who infiltrated law inforcement, now in 2020 we are seing the result of this more and more.

  6. Clevername says:

Exposure to the realities of this country, and it's past, are the only things that have changed. The relevancy of RATM has ALWAYS been peak. Things aren't any worse now than they have ever been. We are just more aware of them.

  7. Covid says:

Rage against the machine has has been around since the late 90's and broke up a couple years ago. Tom Morello has started a new band with Chuck D and B Real called Prophets of Rage. Which is just like Rage Against the Machine.

  8. Ashley Prescott says:

I also recommend Rob Zombie "Living Dead Girl".
If you are a fan of the bride of Chucky horror movie. Then I am sure you have heard a part of this song before. I LOVED it when it was first released. I love to dance. I took ballet, jazz and tap. But when I put this song on, my inner pole dancer wants to come out and bust a brother some fine moves. Lol!😂

🎶 Im in my 30's. So I was born in the 80's and grew up listening to alot of hit classic songs you are just now listening too. They most definitely do not make the kind of music I listened to as a kid and teenager. And I still listen to alot of 80's and 90's and 2000's music. I am a singer and a musican so therefore I have an appreciation for a wide range of genre of music.
There are some good artists out there today. But we had ALOT of good singers and bands that all these rappers and boy bands are just generic copys of them.
But could never reach their caliber.

You just try looking up these artists and watching a playlist of all of their hit music because they have more than just 1 hit song for you to react too. I remember alot of these artists you are reacting too when they first came out and you got to watch the making of their video and when it was finally released and showed for the first time on mtv TRL. It was a huge and big deal everytime these artists would come out with these awesome hits. And even if you are younger than me and are arriving to the party 20 years later. It is nice that you and others are taking the time to look back and show some appreciation for these amazing artists of my era.

Have you ever checked out any of Brandy's music? "Sittin in my Room.? She is also cousins with Snoop Dog.
I also like the duet she did with Monica Arnold called The Boy Is Mine?

Brandy is great soulful artist you might like to check out. She has alot of great songs too. And she is cousins with Snoop Dog.

And Monica Arnold is a talented aoul sister as well. Ahe has several.hit songs. One of her popular ones was "Angel of Mine", and many others. Infact on MTV they released a movie called "Love Song" starring Monica Arnold and the lead actor was a actor in the tv show Angel. He is really HOT! And I loved that movie. It is really hard to find but you can watch the movie free on youtube if you have unlimited internet on your phone. I think you would like the movie.

We also had a ton of other great singers. Some who have passed away. Like Left Eye in the girl band called TLC. I still remember when their song No Scrubs was released.

Alliyah is another great artist who passed away. One of her songs was in the Eddie Murphy movie The Nutty Professor.

Boyz 2 Men had alot of great songs and Tyrese Gibson had alot of great songs. I could literally name 100's or artists and several hundred hit songs of my era.

Im feeling nostalgic & watching all of my favorite 🎶music videos from when I was a kid or teenager. Man we had some great music back then.
Im trying to introduce my niece Caitlin to many genres of music I listened too when I was her age or younger.
I just feel she was robbed of some very good music from my time that she should try out listening too. Even if its just once.

I think she was most shocked when I showed her Marilyn Mansons video "Beautiful People" and "Tainted Love". LOL!

    Tainted Love
    https://youtu.be/dbhjEDH4pIk

Catie knew I use to be in a rock band when I was a teenager. But she did not know that I often sang all kinds of songs from many different genres of music. And Marilyn Mansons song was one of my favorite versions to sing.
He made that song so cool!
And Catie sure has been liking some of the music videos I have been showing her that was popular back in the day when I was growing up. She has got to where she listens to some of these songs now on her own.

And I remember watching the making of the video Tainted Love and when it was first released.
Yeah he was really scary and weird at times. But in the song Tainted Love, you can hear just how talented he was. His vocals was insanely good in the song.

His version was always my favorite.
And believe it or not. Ive even been introducing some people our age or just a little older to some of the bands popular in my time and some of them never even listened too them before!
    How is that possible!
    That should be a crime!
    These are classics! Lol!
I was a fan of so many kinds of music.
Yes I grew up on Southern Gospel and Country but I had a wide range of appreciation for music. I even like classical music from Debussy and Beethoven.
Its impossible to name them all my favorite singers and bands. And Im still a huge fan and listen to their music even today.
I still love Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Alice n Chains, Nivana, Bon Jovi, Matchbox 20, Bryan Adam "Everything I Do  Do It For You", Whotney Houston, Mariah Carey, Aritha Franklin, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Brooks and Dunn, Garth Brooks "Shameless", Trisha Yearwoods, The Judds, Martina McBride, Nelly, Eminem, a few of Marilyn Manson, The Calling, Limp Biscuit, 98%, Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Britney Spears, Mandy Moore, Brandy, Monica Arnold, Tyrese, LFO, FIVE, Areosmith, Amy Winehouse, Pink, Heart, Whitesnake, Rolling Stones, Poisen, Usher, Boyz 2 Men, Beasty Boys,  Led Zepplelin, Queen, Elton John,

Korn (I still remember when they first showed their music video on TRL and it was the music video "Freak on a Leash". Korn singer also made an appearance in one of Limp Biscuits songs and so did Eminem and Snoop Dog if you recall.)
It is so funny watching younger people around 19 years old react to older music they never heard before. Check out this reaction to this young couple listening to Korns song for the very first time. Its hilarious when Korn singer starts his little freakish solo after he screams for the bullet to "GO!". I laughed so hard during their reaction. Because it was the same reaction that my 15 year old niece gave me when I let her watch the music video. Lol!

The thing is about alot of these hard rock or heavy metal band songs. They often carry a deeper and meaningful lesson in their song. Like for example, if you start listening to the music on youtibe and choose to watch the video with the lyrics included. As you read along you start to understand that the song sometimes has a beautiful or meani gful lesson. Like Metallica's song "Unforgiven".
If you listen to the lyrics and read them. What its talking about is a boy who grows to be a man and all of his life people have tried to control him and push their wants and desires upon him. So basically its a message about not letting people bully you around. There is more to the song. But its better to just listen too it. They do have lyric videos on youtube.

    https://youtu.be/RHQC4fAhcbU

    I love the band Pentatonix.
How they take all the distraction of music and focus on their beautiful harmony.
And sometimes they stomp their feet or bang on their chest during parts of the song.

This link takes you to the video of them singing The Sound of Silence.

  10. Ashley Prescott says:

🎶If you want to watch a iconic moment in history concert. Than watch Metallica live performance concert Moscow 1991. They have a TON of great songs. There most well known is Enter Sandman.
The lead singer and awesome rhythms guitarist was only 28 years old on this video. He is now 57 years old and looks great for his age. And he is still playing concerts!
When you watch the video you are going to be amazed at the size of that crowd. If your thinking there is maybe 100,000 people in that crowd like some who have reacted and guessed. Than you are WAY off. And NOPE! It is not CGI either.
Those are all people. And it was 1.6 million people and sadly a little over 50 people did not make it out of there alive. Metallica was in their late 20's. And this concert was huge because it was after the Soviet Union could not stop bands like Metallica from playing rock music there. When only a few months prior they could have beaten people and arrested them.

You can imagine living under socialism from a dictatorial government for years and then Metallica comes out on the scene who was without a doubt one of the biggest heavy metal bands and the lead singer was King of Metal and they decide to play western music that was banned & illegal just a few months before they performed. You would have went to jail for even owning a cassette tape of theirs. Its hard to imagine but they could have arrested you for listening to this music. So these people were finally free to bust out of their cages and ROCK IN ROLL!
They had helicopters hovering over the crowds in order to keep the air flowing amongst so many people. This was a huge moment in history for rock/heavy metal bands. And they had solders in the crowds as well.

I grew up listening to alot of this music your reacting too since I was born in the 80's.
Some people think Metallica was already old in this video. So I just wanted to clear that up and say that Metallica was only in their 20's back then. So no they were not old in this 1991 video.
I saw them in concert in 2018 and they looked freaking good for their age. And they sounded just as great as ever. They are like in their late 50's now. And I would totally date the lead singer. Even though he is old enough to be my dad.. He looked freaking hot & badass at the concert I saw him in 2018. This man still looks and sounds great for his age. Im sure he could take any woman he wanted for one hell of a ride if you know what I mean. Lol! People who say he is old are still young. They are gonna find out that 50 is not that old. Especially for a fertile man.

I saw them in concert in 2018 and they somehow even sound better live then on their album. The lead singers insanely high pitch singing vocals are just as good as ever. Even at his age. There was people of all ages at the concert. Even children as young as 8 years old jamming along to their music. All of their songs are really good. I would encourage you to watch youtube videos of all their music with the lyrics on there because you may not catch what all he is saying and sometimes there is a deeper meaning to the song.
Like for example Metallicas song Unforgiven. Which is another favorite of mine. Is basically about a young boy who grows up to be an older man who has been controlled and pushed and pulled around by others. And this sens a powerful message about not letting others try to live theor lives through you and dictate your life. You need to be your own person and stand up for yourself.
Alot of these heavy metal bands and even hard rock bands like Rage Against the "Machine Bulls on Parade" or "Killing In The Name Of", and rap artist legend Eminem all send a powerful message in their music. Try watching youtube videos with just the lyrics on their music so you can fully react to what they are say and the important message they are sending out there.

  11. Ashley Prescott says:

What a great reaction from you from one of my favorite bands when I was growing up.
I'm in my 30's so I was born in the 80's and I grew up to all of this outstanding music of so many genres. Since I am a singer and a musican I like pretty much every single genre of music except for bluegrass. Lol!
I have a great appreciation for all musoc and ai could recommend hundreds or talented artists and bands from both my era and even before. Because I have an old sould and grew up listening to music popular in my mother and Grans time.
From my Grandmother, there was her heartthrob Elvis Presley, for my mother is was Paul McCarthy in the Beatles. And she also loved Michael Jackson. So I giess it was destined for me to carry a flame for them both all my life. Im a HUGE Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson fan. Seriously Im a bigger fan and am more obsessed with their music than even my Mom and Gran. Lol! I even collected all of their music. Even Elvis Presleys Gospel music I will be singing too.
I grew up on alot of Country music and Southern Gospel and Rock but I have an appreciation and love for other music as well.
And the thing about some of these rappers or hard rock bands or heavy metal bands that I listened too back on the day. Alot of them had a very strong message kind of like Rage Against the Machine.
By the way, if you like this song then you will also like their song called "Bulls On Parade".

And thibk about the title of their name. They are RAGE "against" the MACHINE. What is the machine?
Whtlat do you think that stands for.
Many think the Machine is the Government and those in High Power. And with that in thought. You start to understand their message and how perfect their band name was for them.

And many wonderful things can be said for the band Metallica as well. Some so called fans only know their Sandman song. But their devoted fans like myself who has had the pleasure to see them in live concert knows EVERY SINGLE SONG they sing. And people are missing out on alot of good songs from them. They have strong messages in alot of their music as well. I woupd suggest watching the lyric video to understand what the lead singer is saying. But then go back and check out their video. But the thing about Metallica is they sounded so freaking awesome in a live concert. They DIS NOT lip sync. And the lead sinhers vocal range and pitch was off the charts and mind blowing.
Listen, Ive been to alot of concerts, and so has my husband. Weve seen Limp Biscuit, Alice n Chains, Megadeth, Elton John, Ronnie Milsap, Jason Aldean, Luke Combs, Back Street Boy's lol! Nsync, Britney Spears back in the day, The band Alabama, Linkin Park, Rage Against the Machine, Eminem, Beyonce, Savage Garden, Matchbox 20, Green Day and that is not even all of them we have see though the years. Cause we remember when alot of these artist first came out. Ive been following Beyonce since she was in Destinys Child and I saw their first song on MTV TRL.
But out of all of them concerts. Metallica was the BEST CONCERT OF MY LIFE!
If somebody told me I had 2 choices, that I could have free tickets for life to see any other artist or band in the world except for Metallica.

OR I could have concert tickets for only 1 concert and not ever get to go to another concert ever again.
I would most definately choose the one comcert with Metallica. Bevause they are THAT good in a live perfoemce. The lead singers voice is off the charts and he spunds even better live then on his records. And he is only 57 years old and he looked pretty hot and bad a** when I saw him in concert in 2018. And their guitar playing was insanely great too. There was peopleof all ages even as young as 8 years old jamming along to Metallica.
You should check out a very iconic moment of history live concert performance Metallica did in Moscow in 1991 when the lead singer was 28 years old and they sang the Sandman song. There was 1.6 million people there present at that concert. And they had helicopters hovering over the multitude of crowds to keep the air flowing around the crowds.
Sadly a little over 50 died that day.
There was soldiers there as well.
Read in my next comment. I will tell you more about it. Im running out of space.

  12. The Miseducation of Ms S says:

I was a white suburbanite, in my late teens, during the early '90's. RATM taught me more about civil rights, police brutality, the evils of capatilistic greed, and racism than any class or textbook from my years in middle class public schools.
