Hey everyone – lot of you digging this lesson 🙂 Thanks! But did you know I just released an updated and improved super HD version of this course – and it's still free 🙂 Just go to https://www.justinguitar.com/begin – as well as the lessons, I learned to play left handed using my own course, and filmed my journey, so you can watch me struggle along with you! I really hope it's the best beginner guitar course that's ever been made, and it's free (but I do appreciate donations if you enjoy it and can afford to!). Go check it out, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

  2. Blunter Bow says:

My ring and middle finger goes straight from the middle joint, therefore it becomes much easier for me to press the string without pressing other strings, effortlessly….THOUGH IT'S A DEFECT..

  3. C Shelley says:

Singing "You got G…G for Je-sus…wait? (Checks fingers)
"You got G…G for Gee-wiz! (strum) You got G (strum) for Goats…yes? (Strum)
    "You got G! for good-ness!
(On "for- good-ness I check low E, on "for", I check A, on "good" and high E on "-ess".

I'll save you the rest… 😄 it works for remembering though.

  4. Rajat says:

Though I am able to play g chord. Yet I want to ask my ring finger doesn't curl and remains a bit straight. Is it a problem??

  5. LordRampentHump says:

G should be played with 2,3,4 fingers not 1,2,3

    don't believe me?

    try switching to

    Gsus4 320013

If you learn to play chords this way you will have to unlearn later, trust me!

  6. Minty Marz says:

Some of my friends who play guitar told me that this is the one of the hardest chords, but this is my comfort chord. I just started learning guitar and this is the easiest chord to do. I hate Dm chord tho :,(

  7. Robert Klempay says:

Been practicing one week. Totally new and my guitar is accustic. I am frustrated and have very sore finger tips. My wrist and elbow get sore but I'm determined to go on with practicing. This g cord is more difficult than c cord. It feels like I might be stuck for months trying to drum basic cords but if that's what it takes…

  8. Cody 106 says:

How does he keep his fingers flat without muting other strings???????? I have to make such arches do I don’t mute other strings, and I have to arch do much, my fingers don’t reach the strings

  9. Kaushik Banerjee says:

Thanks so much for pinpointing the trouble with G chord. I am fighting to place my 3rd finger on 1st string and not muting 2nd one and at the same time stretching and placing first two fingers.
