I love Eric's playing almost everything i've heard and seen but this one concert he was in bad shape, freakin smack was eating him up. Face is all bloated and he trying but not at the top of his game here. After reading his autobiography its easy to believe he was really unhappy with his playing here.

I love George Harrison very inspirational in all our style and choice of music today. He has one of the greatest North American indigenous rock and roll guitarist playing background music for him. Gotta love George his inspiration.

Crazy watching this while listening to Eric Clapton's Autobiography. He was addicted to heroin at the time and only agreed to this show if they could keep him stocked up on it. But what they found in NYC was so much weaker that he began experiencing withdrawls. He lied in the hotel bed shaking for 3 days while his girlfriend searched the city for real heroin. Alan Klein then offered him some of his Ulcer medication which helped quite a bit. He said he has a vague memory of this but wasn't "really" there. He said he let a lot of people down at that show, especially himself and that if he ever wanted a reminder of his "good ol days", this would be the film to watch. To him it seems to be a pretty big embarrassment for what the drugs did to him.
Watching it, it kinda looks like George Harrison partly jumped in on the solo because Clapton wasn't giving out the right energy. In fact, I think George was the better guitar player here. Clapton does seem to be on autopilot.
My favorite ? " Don't Bother Me" that song rocks
I always loved Clapton's expression here. You can tell that he enjoyed playing with Harrison.

If you read Claptons book, he talks about how in this concert he literally doesn’t remember because he was so deep into reclusiveness and heroine. He said he didn’t even know where he was at or how he even played
