Can you please make a super simplified breakdown for beginners? I’m getting the main parts but I don’t understand a lot of the guitar lingo, you’re awesome I would super appreciate it!!!

Alright couple corrections for anyone willing to try them.
First instead of playing the second note on the 14th fret on the d string simply play it on the the 9th fret on the g string instead. This is the way he plays it and the way that makes most sense because you don’t have to change positions. It allows you to sing and play there riff with relative ease. Which if you analyze the way billy writes he always shoots for simplicity while he’s singing.

The first c chord is a C9 played
    10-10-12-x-x-x

The bridge chords for the I will, I will part are:
    x-0-11-9-10-x and also
    10-10-12-x-12-x
    5-5-7-7-x-x

There’s also more corrections. But I feel like a dick even leaving these. Sorry Ryan. Not trying to shit on your video.
To all new players learning guitar please try to learn everything by ear and start today. It will pay off ten fold.

To replicate that nice “bell tone”, I use a Blue Lace Sensor for the neck pickup in a ‘77 Strat. To me, it sounds better than a Red Lace Sensor in the bridge location for this song. The V4 Op Amp big muff doesn’t have true bypass, so there’s a slight distorted sound even when it’s clean, so Billy attacks the strings to get it to distort ever so slightly. Run it through a nice clean amp like a JCM 800 with KT88 tubes for example, and let the pedal give you the needed tone.
Also, if anyone wants an accurate transcript of the song, I’d suggest getting this book.

I’m actually on here looking for someone who has all of the bass lines figured out. I have most of it figured out already, but I was hoping a bassist already has it nailed down somewhere???

Hey Ryan, great lesson on one of my favorite SP tunes! I just wanted to add one thing that I figured out by messing around and a seemingly accurate tab online had it the same way. There's a slight bend on the 9th fret d string at the end of that part at 5:30 before it goes back into the main riff.

How about some more Smashing Pumpkins to Thee O' Mighty list of request:
    • Rocket
    • Quiet
    • Tonight, Tonight
    • Jellybelly
    • Here Is No Why
    • An Ode To No One

    * Oh just a thought enduring a cab ride home🤟
