how to to it with the steinberg ur22 interface? cant get it done
so i have software monitoring on but I can't monitor audio effects I put on my mic? can anyone help me with this? I can't find any information online even though this is probably a stupidly simple fix
Hi, what if I ONLY want to hear the prerecorded piano I am singing to via headphones, without hearing the vocal I am recording coming back thru the headphones. What settings do I use? ie I dont want to monitor my recording I just want to record but be able to hear the backing track in the headphones.
OMG! Can´t believe it was that simple 😀 Thank you sir! // DJFLX
Hi, for some reason Logic doesn't allow me to deselect Software Monitoring, is there anything I should change?
When I play the song without recording I can no longer hear back my live input
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, very clear explanation, super appreciate it much! Continued success and abundance!
Very helpful thank you sir x
I am not hearing effects on the guitar as I play the part. Only after I have created my part and listen back to it do the effects work. I have been through the process as described in your video but still not working. Any thoughts or further advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi, i was quite confusing with my audio interface right now, i was using steinberg ur12 audio interface for my recording, but when i plugged in the headphone to interface and i press monitoring while recording, it cause really loud noise and feedback, i have no idea on it, could you give me some suggestions? 🙁
Thanks for the tip! But do you know how to mute direct monitoring on Behringer umc404HD? Mine doesn't have software like yours. i'm using mac os by the way.
Thanks it’s helping me!!
Thank you so much!! This helped a lot!
I was going nuts with the roomy echo on my vocals for months and you solved it in one video
Perfectly clear. Thank you.
QUESTION! First off, this is great video and was very helpful. Here is my question, my Direct monitoring volume is great, however once I mute direct monitoring and go to software monitoring my volume is so low I have to crank headphone volume on my interface all the way and crank amp settings in software all the way …so why is my software monitoring level so much different from my direct monitoring level?
Thanks for this tutorial… !!
very useful
Appreciate this tutorial, really saved me some time!
u r the goat
most clear tutorial ever. lol. thank you!
Choose Preferences > Audio > General, and make sure that Software Monitoring is enabled and Input monitoring for focused track and record enabled tracks is disabled.
Thaaaaaaaank YOU!! You just saved me $2500! I was about to upgrade from Apogee Duet 2 to Apogee Ensemble Thunderbolt because of latency issues with vocals. I can wait for a few more weeks to upgrade instead of doing it at this very moment. I'm still upgrading soon though because the difference in improved clarity is supposed to be amazing! Now I can at least still record vocals without any latency. You are the MAN! Subscribed!
Good video man! I'm just learning Logic now and this was exactly what I needed.
Thanks for this video. Straight to the points I needed. Subscribing now.
Nice tips! Thanks for sharing!
I want to disable monitoring completely so that I can record a signal in for a track without hearing it come through the speakers… I tried muting the track and also panning hard left and only having right monitor on but I just cannot seem to do it or found any help online. Any help would be appreciated as its driving me a bit mad!
I need to demo effects before I record. All I am able to do is record with NO effects, then assign the effects AFTER the guitar track is recorded. What setting do you use if you just want to listen to each effect? Thanks.
Thanks! This was really helpful.
I turned on software monitoring but now my voice sounds kinda robotic in the headphones
i still cant hear myself
Thank you for the clarity on this subject, cheers.
