HELP! I am using my Montage8…. connected to midi Bluetooth (Yamaha MD-BT01) going into the Notion app. The app recognizes the Bluetooth and is connected. I also choose the edit symbol When I play the Montage the notes are NOT transcribed into Notion. What am I doing wrong!?! Thanks for your help!

Hi Mitch, I need notation software/app (I have an iPad Air 2 and going to get an Apple laptop) for use with a EWI5000 midi wind controller. I've used Notion and I like it, I have the EWI5000, a couple of midi keyboards and a Kat drumpad. Also, a PreSonus StudioLive AR8c mixer (which I haven't used yet, still trying to figure out what I need and how to use…!). What I'm trying to figure out how to do is how to capture in notation what I play/improvise with the EWI (I chose the wind controller because, first, I've played woodwinds all my life. And second, so that I can play anytime, day or night (I have a disability that causes me to often be asleep when everyone else is awake, and vise versa.). I want to notate and then transpose, then compose and record.
I think I'll need a audio/midi interface, I'm looking at PreSonus, I would like to use their DAW too, and have as much hardware and software of the same brand as possible.
So my main question is, does PreSonus and Notion work well with midi wind controllers?
I've been reading/researching on various fb groups for ewi for months , but I'm not understanding 99% of what's being discussed.
I have been a coustomer of Sweetwater (bought my EWI5000 and all my equipment from. Except my woodwinds) for many years. I saw this video and thought that, if anyone, you could help answer my questions. Thanks!

its the best next to Logic Pro, but still RIDICULOUS. Unelieveble how no serious composer revise such things to give the most basic obvious ideas. Logic Pro is not a score editor but still many times batter, they just dont do updates in the score editor and it has some complications. But at least quite EVERYTHING is possible there. The only fact that Notion does not have more than 4 voices says it is for beginners

How do you add grace notes, and more detailed notation? Also how do I write two melody lines on the treble clef? Like in many counterpoint pieces written by Bach

Hi there. I have a composition I am writing and have just purchased the writing facility to use my iPad pencil. However when I go back to edit a bar of music and for example try to write a rest or even draw some notes in it does not input them, perhaps I am doing something wrong. I also need to separate the bars into 4 bars per line ( not sure how to do this). I have been watching many tutorials but am getting a little frustrated. Any advice would be much appreciated. I am using an iPad Pro with Apple Pencil.

the Presonus 'Team' is not jus incompetent… These guys are EVIL…the whole sofware is a TRAP…tolta waste of time. AND MONEY….how can you copy and paste chords betwen staves???you simply CAN NOT….its trash…dont buy this garbage guys…

  7. Heather Haze says:

This really only scratches the surface. Add an Apple Pencil on an iPad Pro, and Notion absolutely rocks. You can draw notation right on the screen and Notion intelligently recognizes and notates it. It's an amazing app that has truly changed the game for me.

menudo truño, lo ideal sería poder cambiar el valor de las figuras musicales mediante la voz humana, poder decir, negra, blanca, redonda, semi corchea y así no tener que estar con el lápiz seleccionando el cambio de figura rítmica.

If I want to buy ipad for this software, I should choose ipad or ipad pro? Also, how large GB are the complete libraries?

Looks like a great app. Can we use this app with pdfs and use playback for our church choir to play in places where we cannot use a keyboard? I guess my real question; is it only for composition or can you use it for performance?
