Brilliant! I'm not a guitar guy and this is a great idea. I prefer to customize my own licks instead of loops so this is great. Thanks!
I would love to see an expanded version of this where you record each note multiple times and what the process is to make use of those extra samples per note, for example, how to make them used as a round-robin, or as velocity layers? I've tried but it always ends up a mess. I'm definitely going to open up Logic later today and walk through the steps in this video again, just to see if I missed something. Another thing I'd love to do is be able to use the notes recorded that is adjacent to another note and have Logic use those notes as source material as well, so not only recording multiple layers but since each note played is going to sound a bit unique when repitched up or down a couple steps, that nuance I think would make the sample set come alive a lot.
Nice video. One word of advice on sampling guitar: tune the instrument often. Pitch can drift subtly during a session.
Thank you very much – I spend a weekend sampling my SG, since I love my guitar, but I am a DAW guy. I think your videos are a great inspiration on how to use the stuff we already have in place.
