I thought EVH's 5150 Kramer Pacer Special was made of Swamp Ash?
Interesting and great info! I've kept an 83-84 Pacer stored in its case for ages… an H-H setup, translucent red body with the banana type headstock. It's beautiful and plays great but I find it a bit heavy.
Dino, killer video 5 stars man!!
haha couldn't agree more
How much is this guitar?
Hey can u please tell me how much the guitar is because I am planning to buy it but I dont know how much it is.
Ed has said it is a Seymour Duncan '59…
What are the frets? dunlop 6105's like on his Peaveys or 6100's like on the Frankenstein?
That's the Frankenstrat.
I heard the Black and Yellow version had a dimarzio super distortion
I have a Seymour Duncan JB in a couple of my guitars and I love them. But Eddie actually used a PAF (Gibson?) and/or a SD '59 humbucker. The JB's were originally designed for Jeff Beck, hence the name. But other than that, some good information! 🙂
Great video ! gonna try build myself one 🙂
you seem to know your stuff. great video 🙂
i was offered one in 2001 for in the for £200
i was told owener paid over £1000 for it
Put a piece of tape WHERE you want the Black Stripe to be.
Then carefully tape Either side of it and then Remove the centre piece of Tape.
Mask up all remaining areas and there ya go. You can now spray your Black.
Though if you wanna have Black stripes that intersect you will have to use a craft knife to carefully cut and remove the tape from where one stripe crosses the other.
You will see what I mean as you are doing it.
Thats how i did the EVH paintjob on my Pedalboard.
First paint it black, tape the black stripes you wanna keep, then paint it white, tape the white stripes in and then finally paint it red and remove the tape;
Voila!
Hi! Just got a 2000 striker used(music yo) are these any better then the ones out now? has the same quad rails but i replaced it with a duncun invader pup. laso has a reverse head stock. Thanks good vid!
I don't see anything wrong with applying primer. I just painted mine without it.
You sure know your shit dude. Impressive info and I appreciate it since I am about to embark on building my of Frankenstrat.
great video…van halen will always be my all time favorite band…. you have obvioulsy done your homework… your a van halen history book….thanks for sharing this information…
I want one ! 🙂
wow how dumb can you be. If you knew what you were talking about the Kramer 5150 was a guitar that ed built back in '80 something (forget at the moment) in fact, the Kramer 5150 was long before the amps
That was on Ed's first guitar. Not the Kramer.
A custom special one, maybe wounded by Gibson or Kramer.(Gibson owns the Kramer company)
It looks more like a sock to me!
sweet guitar and awsome interpritation of eruption
The "1984" reissues made by Gibson are now discontinued. Use to be a dime a dozen on ebay. Difficult to find now.
the pickup is a seymour duncan '59 model? a tb59-1b??
jumbos.
The only way you can get the exact sustain block is to find one of those early fine tuning Floyds. There are substitute blocks you can buy from different sellers on ebay but I can't comment on the sound as I've never used one.
All poplar. There are some that think it is basswood. At any rate, the sonic properties are similar.
the best way to have one the original parts, congrats
eruption awesome:)
and cool guitar i really like that finish
