Carla Linton. Another one of my favorite songs by My White Ivory Queen Soul Sista Teena Marie is called. Yes Indeed. This is one of my favorite Old School Slow Jams back in the day.

  2. Joe Miller says:

Teena Marie was not only a fabulous and virtuosic singer she was one hell of a lyricist and composer. This song never fails to move me and just shake me to the very core of my being but then there are many songs by Teena that do the exact same thing! This Lady was incredible!

I can't stop my tears from flowing…I loved this woman. I love this song from the first time I heard it back in 1981. I was 20 years old.I miss her presence on this earth. She brought me so much joy and happiness. I miss her incredible talent, her musicianship, her humility. A talent like hers comes along once in a lifetime. I'm so glad I got to experience her vast incredible music catalog. I became a fan of hers back in1979 when she and Rick did "Fire and Desire".I have every album she ever made. For me, music has not been the same since she departed this earth..RIP Vanilla Child

aka "Mad Dad" Recently saw a list of the (considered)
Top 50 Female Vocalists ever and was very surprised
Teena wasn't on that list. She could out sing over half
the artists that were listed. RIP Lady T.

Just like Teena Marie herself, Yes Indeed is my favorite song she ever recorded, with Casanova Brown a close second. Her voice transcends all space and time and she will always be my favorite female singer of all time 💯❤️

Minnie, Phyllis, Whitney, Teena… I wish we could have them all back. Very few songs can be called brilliant, magnificent. Teena’s voice, the piano, the strings, the lyrics, Teena’s emotions… Perfect. Timeless. Brilliant. Magnificent.

I had JUST broken up with my first love when I got wind of this track from a friend, 1981. Let me tell you, I was belting this out like a FOOL! My sister threatened to break the record after a week! LOL

This track, STILL, will get me going. Beauty and longing put to words. A love THAT deep….but it ain't right.

  11. K Dawg says:

I’m a big Teena Marie fan, I love all of her music, this is a beautiful song, some of her music will make you cry, that’s how good it is, I was 8 years old when this song came out, love old school

  12. Bertram Attles says:

Mary Christine Brockert aka Teena Marie without question was one of the most dynamic musical talents of this era. Her skills on the piano were phenomenal and she also played guitar and congas. Her compositions felt like a modern opera. There was storytelling and passion with all her lyrics. She let the music in her song speak when it needed to and let her lyrics speak when they needed to. She never overproduced her songs and created complex ballads that would be hard for even an accomplished singer to match. There are many artist that might say there were inspired by her but I am hard pressed to find anyone that even comes close to her skill set. We might see someone with in the future with some of her abilities but it would be difficult for anyone to combined them all into one individual. Though I have listen to her songs dozens and dozens of times and know 90 percent of the lyrics by heart lol. I am still amazed at the range and complexity of these songs. If you listen very closely there are times when her fingers are dancing on the keys as she sings a melody which is very difficult to do even for the most accomplished singer. There is an angelic sound to her music and its always rooted in God is you listen carefully. I am so glad her music is around to enjoy and she is sorely missed. Yes Indeed is one of my favorite tracks the lyrics are like poetry and show that each verse does not have to rhyme when story being told is so deep in spirit. When she wrote she always let the tempo of the song set the mood for the intro and never rushed into the first verse, like many artist do today. This is a master class in song writing and production anyone aspiring to perform can definitely learn a lesson from Teena Marie.
