BRING ON THE BATTLEFIELD
Operation Flaming Dart
As a black man from Queens this is HARD!!!!
Who the hell down votes this?
Love this band, the album and this song. I hated it when it was covered by Van Halen.
Video ??
We’re the Kinks a GREAT band or just a band that’s been around a long time and built a catalog that’s respectable
The devil and Ray Davies composed this song
I was at the Kinks concert in LA in 1980, I saw some kid spit on the Davies brother on lead guitar. The brother just tee'd off and kicked that kid right in the face. Full force, it was fuckin awesome!
Sounds like Van Halen
This is what being a jet fighter pilot feels like
The guitar riff that started heavy metal and punk rock! Long live the Kinks!
Smells like napalm
I really wanna know how he pulled off the beginning. Is there a tab with the beginning like that on there?
at first i thought their best performance . but the guitar has to much reverb and playing too flashy like eddie van halen . i heard better when guitarist was really rockin instead of flashing
Felipeeeeee!!👠👠👠👠👠👞👞👞👞👞👟👟👟👡👡👡👡👠👟
FROM BFV !!!
Fucking Battlefield Vietnam! Flying that F-4 Phantom with this song shredding was the shit!!!
Good memories
I thought there was another live recorded version with an even longer solo intro
i wish i had tabs for this version. only find the "boring" 60s styles
HOLY FUCKING SHIT AWESOME
RUSHES FOR A MIG17!

Thank you Thank you Thank you! 😀
I tabbed out the solo intro to the song. Just lookup You Really Got Me Live Intro on ultimate guitar
Dude I've been looking for hours now after one but still can't seem to find one. You found one yet?
Battlefield Vietnam!
was hoping to see live footage from a concert they did at irvine meadows, california. i jumped up onstage during this encore song, ran to the mike to sing a verse, mike came off stand , set it back on and took a dive off the stage and crowd caught me, . everyone at school telling me they saw it on the 11 oclock news, , o well, my 15 secs…
WHO of us can even imagine this song being written in 1964, the early days of the 'Flower Power' generation? This, in-your-face, no-holds-barred, bad-ass rock song that was, what, 10 YEARS ahead of it's time (for every other rock band). Sure the Beatles influenced every band to follow, but the true ROCKERS would still list these British geniuses above everyone else.
And yes, I have this in my vinyl LP collection and I still listen to it on a turntable!
Sure, Van Halen did a good job of this song. The Kinks (the original) version is the best in my opinion!
Is there tab in existence for this live version?
Agree….
The Kink's are the real deal and Dave Davies is the man period! He never had to show off he just did what he did and he did well!
On this day in 1965 {January 20th} the Kinks performed "You Really Got Me" on the ABC-TV program 'Shindig!'…
Four months earlier on September 28th, 1964 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #7 and spent 15 weeks on the Top 100…
On Sept. 10th, 1964 it reached #1 {for 2 weeks} in the U.K.; and #2 in Australia and #4 in Canada…
Jimmy O'Neill, Shindig's host, passed away nine days ago on January 11th at age 73…
R.I.P. Mr. O'Neill….
lmao He mighta shoulda took a 1/2 a nanosecond of study lol Before he Typed off his mouth or finger hehe
van halen does this song better
I remember trying to form a garage band in November of 1967..this and All the Day…….were the 1st 2 songs we could play
those who think VH did this any justice–uh, nuh
THERE WAS NO SOUND LIKE THIS IN EXISTENCE AT THE TIME–NO ONE TO COPY, RIPOFF, AND DEFINITELY NO COMPARISON FOR THEIR MUSIC!!!!!!!
to pep up your monday..
Battlefield?
